During the talks between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, an air raid alert went off in Ukraine, so it is obvious to Ukrainians that their agreements are not working, at least for now.

Axar.az reports via Ukrinform, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this at a briefing on Tuesday night.

"I think that Ukrainians understand what is happening. There’s an air raid alert in Ukraine now. So this, in principle, is the answer to what’s happening. So the Russians, as far as I know, said that immediately during the call with President Trump, they ordered that their strikes on energy infrastructure using long-range weapons, including Shaheds, be stopped. But now there is an air alert. So it’s not working so far," Zelensky said.

In general, in Zelensky’s opinion, good results were achieved at the negotiations between the Ukrainian and American delegations in Saudi Arabia, in Jeddah. In particular, a proposal was put forward by the U.S. for a complete ceasefire, although Ukraine's proposal concerned a ceasefire at energy facilities and achieving silence in the sky and at sea.

"The only issue raised now was not to hit the energy sector. I have no additional information just yet. I think it would be right if we had a conversation with President Trump and learned about the details of what the Russians offered the Americans, or what the Americans offered the Russians," Zelensky said.

As the head of state noted, in his opinion, the American side, respecting the agreements with Ukraine, put forward the proposals that had been discussed with Ukraine in Jeddah.

At the same time, the president said, Ukraine will support the proposals for a ceasefire at the energy sector, but it is necessary to make public all the details of what the parties agreed on.

"After we receive details from the American president, from the American side, we will give our answer, prepare it, and the team will be ready for technical talks," Zelensky said.

As reported earlier, on Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump had a phone call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, discussing the need to end the war in Ukraine.
