The new draft agreement on natural resources between Ukraine and the United States covers all minerals, including oil and gas, but the document does not mention security guarantees for Kyiv at all.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, referring to the draft document submitted to him by the government.

"We are talking about all minerals. There is both oil and gas. Throughout Ukraine, both new and existing ones," he said.

According to him, the agreement will be indefinite and does not provide for any security guarantees for Ukraine from the United States:

"The document can be changed or its validity suspended only with the permission of Washington."
