The European Union will respond to the new tariffs announced by the United States, but this will happen at the appropriate time.
Axar.az reports that this was stated by the representative of the European Commission, Olof Gill.
Gill noted that the EU is currently "in a waiting mode", but has already analyzed the possible impact of the tariffs.
According to him, the response will consist of two stages. The first stage will concern the steel and aluminum tariffs already in force, and the second will cover all other areas:
"The first stage is currently under internal discussion, and the second will be made public after the announcement."
On Wednesday, Trump threatened to impose tariffs on goods imported from all over the world. In March, his administration imposed tariffs on steel and aluminum imports and announced on Thursday that new car tariffs would come into effect.
