Gen. Michael Kurilla, commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), visited Israel on Tuesday as the official guest of Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, the newly appointed Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
Axar.az, citing JNS, reports that this marks their first official meeting since Zamir succeeded Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi in March.
During the visit, Kurilla and Zamir held a joint meeting with senior IDF commanders, focusing on "strategic security issues," according to the Israeli military. Their discussions aimed at reinforcing military cooperation and addressing regional security challenges.
Kurilla's previous trip to Israel took place in February, when he met with then-IDF chief Halevi and other high-ranking security officials. Those talks covered pressing regional threats, including developments in Lebanon, Gaza, Syria, and Iran, highlighting the ongoing U.S.-Israel defense partnership.
