Russian and U.S. envoys meet in Washington amid ceasefire push.

Axar.az, citing Reuters, reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, met with U.S. officials in Washington as the Trump administration seeks to accelerate ceasefire negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.

Dmitriev, known for his ties to Trump’s circle, was invited by U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and granted a special travel license despite facing sanctions. The meeting follows Trump’s growing frustration with the slow pace of peace talks and signals a potential shift in U.S.-Russia relations.
