An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale struck off the coast of Severo-Kurilsk, Sakhalin Oblast, Russia.

Axar.az informs that the online seismic activity monitoring service reported this.

The tremors were recorded in the Kuril Islands region at 22:57 local time.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located 225 kilometers southeast of Severo-Kurilsk.
