Today, during the ongoing trial at the Baku Military Court, documents related to events that took place before the occupation of Shusha were examined.

Axar.az reports based on the documents examined by the state prosecutors, before the occupation, the city of Shusha and surrounding villages were repeatedly shelled by the Armenian armed forces using various weapons, including rockets and artillery. During these events, individuals of Azerbaijani nationality were killed, injured, or taken captive.

In addition, the water pipelines of villages inhabited by Azerbaijanis were blown up by the Armenian armed forces, and serious damage was inflicted on educational, healthcare, and other civilian facilities, as well as on citizens' homes. Criminal cases were initiated regarding these facts at that time.

The events include the massacres known as the Malibeyli and Gushchular massacres.

Another protocol examined at the trial concerns the incident on April 4, 1991, when a helicopter was shot at during flight in the Goytala village of Shusha district. On that day, around 12-1 PM, a helicopter of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the number 27057, carrying deputies of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was shot at by Armenians from the village of Eksaok while flying to Goytala village in Shusha district. As a result, the helicopter was damaged, and during a forced landing in Turshsu village, it crashed and caught fire, injuring some of the passengers.

Another examined protocol relates to the incident on January 28, 1992, when a passenger helicopter was shot down. It is noted that the "MI-8T" passenger helicopter, with the tail number 24137, belonging to the AZALPANX Zabrat airline of the Azerbaijani civil aviation consortium "AZAL," took off from the Agdam airport for a flight from Agdam to Shusha. The helicopter was shot down by the Armenian armed forces with a missile near the village of Kerkicahan in the city of Khankendi. The helicopter crashed into a dirt road from Khalfali village in Shusha district to Gaybali village and exploded. During the incident, 3 crew members and 39 passengers, a total of 42 people, were killed. Protocols on the site and the bodies indicate that the bodies of those inside the helicopter were found burned and fragmented due to the explosion, which was accompanied by a fire. Fragments from the explosion were collected at the site.

It is important to note that the trial of citizens of the Republic of Armenia, who are accused of committing crimes against peace and humanity, war crimes—including the preparation and conduct of an aggressive war, genocide, violations of the laws of war, as well as terrorism, financing terrorism, the forcible seizure and retention of power, and numerous other crimes—is ongoing.
