Dubai is rapidly positioning itself as a global hub for AI startups, attracting founders from around the world due to its fast-paced innovation, business-friendly legislation, and growing reputation as a talent and research center.
Axar.az reports that during Dubai AI Week 2025, industry leaders shared why they’ve chosen the UAE as their base.
Sachin Dev Duggal, founder of Builder.ai, cited strong demand across the Gulf region and a supportive government as major factors, while Huspy’s CEO, Jad Antoun, praised the Golden Visa program for attracting top global talent.
Similarly, Leap71’s CEO, Lin Kayser, highlighted the openness and supportiveness of the local ecosystem as a key reason for relocating.
In addition to startup growth, AI is also transforming public services in Dubai. Mohammed AlMudharreb from the RTA revealed that their AI chatbot has handled over 23 million conversations, a testament to the effectiveness of aligned data, strategy, and execution.
Juma AlGhaith of Dubai Customs emphasized that AI is not only improving existing systems but also enabling complete transformation. A global survey presented by IBM showed that only 25% of CAIOs believe their infrastructure is ready to scale AI, despite the high expectations placed on their small teams.
The event also shed light on Dubai’s vibrant startup scene. Entrepreneurs like Akshat Prakash (CAMB.AI) and Nuha Hashem (CozmoX AI) praised Dubai’s unique combination of cultural diversity, strategic location, and proactive approach to innovation.
Hashem noted that the region, which lagged behind during the dotcom era, is now creating world-first AI solutions and empowering female founders to lead without bias.
