More than a thousand buildings have been damaged after a series of earthquakes in Istanbul, Turkiye.

Axar.az reports that Turkish Minister of Urban Planning and Environment Murat Kurum X announced this on his social network.

“According to the results of the damage assessment, 15,013 buildings were inspected in 39 districts of Istanbul, 1,025 of which were slightly damaged, and more than 12,300 were not damaged,” Kurum noted.

The minister emphasized that the calculation of the damage is ongoing.

It should be noted that the minister had previously announced that 437 buildings had been damaged in the earthquake.
