According to media outlets close to President Donald Trump in the United States, a new bloc is forming in the northern Middle East under Turkiye's leadership, and this bloc is gradually gaining strength. Israel, however, views this bloc—whose main focus is trade opportunities—as an “enemy.”
Axar.az reports that these remarks were made by Turkish political expert Emre Öztürk.
Öztürk stated that in the U.S. Congress, there is growing concern over China's plan to become the largest foreign actor in the Middle East by 2026, which has caused panic in Washington:
“According to an analysis published in The National Interest, with the weakening of the Syrian regime, the blows dealt to Hamas and Hezbollah, and Russia’s withdrawal, the balance of power in the region is shifting in favor of Turkiye.
A new bloc is emerging under Ankara’s unofficial leadership. This bloc, based on diplomatic and trade cooperation, is replacing Iran’s weakening Shia coalition. China is pushing both the U.S. and Russia out of the region, while the U.S. faces the risk of isolation. Donald Trump views this process positively, whereas Israel is concerned.”
