An explosion followed by a fire occurred in an apartment on the ninth floor of a residential building in southwestern Moscow.

Axar.az informs according to TASS, "Preliminary reports indicate that an explosion and a subsequent fire broke out on the ninth floor of a residential building on General Tyulenev Street. Two apartments are currently on fire, and a collapse has occurred between the eighth and ninth floors," the report said.

As a result of the incident, two people have died and six others were injured.

The fire that broke out following a powerful explosion in the Moscow apartment has been extinguished.

The country’s Ministry of Emergency Situations provided this information.

The fire covered an area of 100 square meters.
