President Donald Trump announced that he will only accept the "total dismantlement" of Iran’s nuclear program, marking his clearest public stance since talks with Iran began a month ago.
Axar.az, citing Axios, reports speaking on "Meet the Press," Trump emphasized that while he wants Iran to be successful, it must not possess nuclear weapons, which he says would pose a threat to global safety.
He remains open to a peaceful, civilian nuclear program—an idea also supported by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Trump's statement resolves an internal debate within his administration, aligning with the more hardline approach supported by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. However, Iran has repeatedly stated it will not agree to fully dismantle its nuclear program.
The next round of negotiations is set for later this week.
