Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, during his upcoming working visit to Moscow on May 26–27, will discuss the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine with Russian leadership and once again express Ankara’s readiness to act as a mediator in peace talks.
Axar.az informs this was reported by TASS, citing sources in the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
Fidan will visit Russia at the invitation of his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov.
"During the talks in Moscow, Minister Fidan will reaffirm Turkiye's commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and he will express satisfaction with the progress made in this direction thanks to recent important developments. He will once again state Turkiye’s willingness to serve as a mediator in negotiations, as it did in 2022 and on May 16 in Istanbul," the sources said.
During the Turkish Foreign Minister’s visit to Russia, an exchange of views is also planned on regional and international issues, including Syria, Gaza, and the South Caucasus, according to sources.
Fidan and Lavrov last met in April at the international diplomatic forum in Antalya.
