Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has criticized the EU for its inconsistent policy on sanctions against Russia and Israel.

Axar.az reports that he said this while speaking at the European Council.

Sanchez said that the EU has imposed 18 sanctions packages against Russia, but continues to cooperate with Tel Aviv despite Israel's serious violations of the treaty's human rights articles:

"It makes no sense to impose 17 sanctions packages against Russia unless we do the same against Israel. Europe is applying double standards and cannot even suspend the partnership agreement with Israel."
