Turkiye is holding talks with its partners about rejoining the fifth-generation F-35 fighter jet program.

Axar.az informs that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated:

“We have not given up on the F-35. We are discussing our intention to return to the project with our counterparts. The F-35 program is as much a political process as a technical one. Turkiye was unfairly excluded from the program. We have always criticized this step, which does not align with the spirit of alliance,” Erdogan said.

He added that he has discussed the issue with U.S. President Donald Trump:

“Talks have started at the technical level. I hope we can achieve progress.”
