French President Emmanuel Macron was late for the EU summit in Brussels.

Axar.az reports that the French leader appeared at the headquarters of the EU Council about an hour and a half after the official start of the event.

Journalists noted that Macron looked tired.

Some commentators on social networks even claimed that the president had simply fallen asleep. Because of his delay, he missed the traditional press conference before the summit, and also did not show up for a meeting of the liberal leaders' group.

Journalist Chey Bose wrote on the social network:

"The EU summit has begun. Macron was 1.5 hours late and looked like he had slept under a bridge."
