The French government plans to accelerate the increase in defense spending in the coming years.
Axar.az reports that French President Emmanuel Macron said this in his address.
According to him, in 2027 the country's military budget will reach 64 billion euros, which is twice as much as in 2017.
"We planned to double the defense budget by 2030, but we will do it by 2027. An additional 3.5 billion euros will be allocated to defense in 2026, and an additional 3 billion euros in 2027. Thus, over the past 10 years, the defense budget will double, reaching 64 billion euros," the head of state emphasized.
