Kremlin: Russia–Azerbaijan ties under strain

Relations between Moscow and Baku have a solid foundation, but are currently going through a difficult period.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President.

“There is a really solid foundation, there is a coincidence of interests between the two countries, and there is mutually beneficial cooperation based on mutual respect. But sometimes there are difficult periods in relations between the two countries. Now is one of those periods. We hope that this period will pass. Cooperation between the two countries is mutually beneficial,” he said.
