A delegation led by Mr. Oscar Stenström, State Secretary to the Minister for EU Affairs and Trade, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden visited the leading mobile communication provider of Azerbaijan – Azercell Telecom LLC on November 8th, 2017. The main intention of the visit was comprehensive insight into the business and development perspectives of Azercell- the company, which represents the largest Swedish investment in Azerbaijan.

The State Secretary Mr. Oscar Stenström and Ms. Ingrid Tersman, Ambassador of Sweden to the Republic of Azerbaijan met with Azerell management team, led by Mr. Vahid Mursaliyev, CEO of Azercell Telecom LLC.

Azercell’s CEO, Mr. V. Mursaliyev expressed his gratitude for the visit of official delegation and stressed the importance of strong business ties and work experience between Azercell and its main investors Telia Comany, which contributed a lot in the sustainable development of the company. Swedish telecom giant and Azercell’s main investor Telia Company was represented on the meeting by Mr. Kjell Lindstrom, Senior Advicer at the CEO office of Telia Company

The delegation was briefed on Azercell history, overall business performance, investments to the telecom sector of the country and innovations that Company had introduced to Azerbaijani market, as well as perspective plans in accordance to the latest trends of the industry. Discussions also covered Azercell’s contribution to culture of Responsible Business Conduct, Ethics and Compliance, Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility, with focus on broadening cooperation in the sphere of innovative technologies, entrepreneurship and human resources.

Mr. Oscar Stenström, State Secretary to the Minister for EU Affairs and Trade, thanked Azercell team for the warm welcome and emphasized that Azercell successfully demonstrates exemplary of the Company developing business in the most demanded field of the future- telecommunications, proposing end-users Data, which is the new great resource of the global economy.
