Two more PKK terrorists were killed during a security operation in southeastern Diyarbakir province’s Lice district Monday morning, according to the regional governor.

“With two more terrorists killed this morning, the number of terrorists killed has risen to eight,” Huseyin Aksoy told journalists in Lice.

He added the operation continues resolutely.

On Sunday, two soldiers, who were seriously wounded during the ongoing operations, succumbed to their injuries; six PKK terrorists were also killed in the operations.

Security forces have been conducting broad operations against the PKK in Diyarbakir’s Lice, Kulp, and Hani districts since March 5.

More than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.
