Magnitude-4.3 earthquake hits Turkey’s Aegean

A magnitude-4.3 earthquake jolted Turkey's Aegean region on Wednesday, according to the country’s disaster management agency.

Axar.az reports that the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said on its website that the quake hit the Aegean Sea off the coast of Urla district in Izmir province at 4.40 p.m. local time (1340 GMT).

It occurred at a depth of 5.18 kilometers (3.21 miles), and the epicenter of the quake is recorded 51 kilometers (31.6 miles) off the coast of Urla district.

On Oct. 30, a powerful 6.6 magnitude earthquake rattled Turkey’s third-largest city Izmir, killing at least 115 and injuring more than 1,000 victims.​​​​​​​
