Azerbaijan strictly adheres to the agreement reached with the Armenian side on the cessation of hostilities on the line of contact between the two countries’ troops, Azerbaijani Defense Ministry spokesman Vagif Dargahli told local media on Tuesday.

He was commenting on Armenian media reports that an Azerbaijani tank was allegedly destroyed on the contact line.

The spokesman said that tanks and other military equipment of Azerbaijan are not deployed to the contact line.

“The Armenians are so frightened that that they present their own destroyed tanks as those of Azerbaijan,” Dargahli said. “We unequivocally declare that the tank shown in the photo released by the Armenian side belongs to the enemy forces, and it was destroyed by our soldiers during active fighting in early April.”

The enemy, by disseminating such misinformation, aims to raise the morale of the Armenian soldiers discouraged after the recent defeats, Dargahli added.
