British and French soldiers switched roles for the first time in the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
Axar.az reports that French soldiers guarded Buckingham Palace for the first time in history.
This ceremony is a step dedicated to the 120th anniversary of French-British friendship and "Entente Cordiale". Due to ill health, King Charles III was unable to attend the ceremony, but he was replaced by Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, and his wife, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh. British soldiers also joined French troops to provide presidential security outside the Elysee Palace in Paris.
The "Entente Cordiale" agreement, signed in 1904, is still considered the foundation of the British-French alliance and played a special role in improving relations between the two countries.
