Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has congratulated the Chairman of the Republican Turkish Party, Tufan Erhürman, on his victory in the presidential elections of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

“According to the unofficial results of the elections held in the TRNC, I congratulate Mr. Tufan Erhürman, who was elected president today. I hope this election, which once again demonstrated the democratic maturity of the TRNC and reflected the will of our Turkish Cypriot brothers at the ballot box, will be beneficial for our countries and our region. As Turkiye, we will continue to defend the sovereign rights and interests of the TRNC together with our Turkish Cypriot brothers on every platform,” Erdogan emphasized.

It should be noted that, according to preliminary results, Tufan Erhürman, Chairman of the Republican Turkish Party, won the presidential elections held in the TRNC on October 19.
