Cooperation between Jewish organizations operating in Azerbaijan and the United States was discussed.
Axar.az reports that this was discussed during a meeting between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and a delegation led by Betsy Burns Korn, Chairwoman of the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations of America.
It was noted that during the meeting, the current state and development prospects of Azerbaijan-US and Azerbaijan-Israel relations, cooperation with Jewish organizations operating in the United States, and the regional situation were discussed.
The meeting provided extensive information on the latest developments in the region, especially as a result of the August 8 Washington Summit, the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, regional ties and efforts to implement the TRIPP route, and measures taken in the post-conflict period.
The traditions of interfaith harmony, tolerance, and multiculturalism existing in Azerbaijan were emphasized with satisfaction, and the fact that in Azerbaijan, where the majority of the population is Muslim, people of Christian, Jewish, and other religions live in conditions of mutual understanding, good neighborliness, and peace. It was stated that the presence of the Jewish community, which has lived in peace and tranquility in the country for many centuries, has given additional strength to the development of strong partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Israel.
The meeting also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
