Today is a historic moment for Ukraine and our country. For the first time, we are presenting our country at the International Urban Forum. This is Ukraine’s national pavilion, and it represents the restoration of our future homes.
Axar.az reports that Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba said in a statement to journalists at the Ukrainian pavilion during the “Urban Expo” exhibition held within the framework of WUF13.
He thanked the organizers of the forum, especially the Republic of Azerbaijan.
“As long as the war continues, our principle is this: we continue reconstruction and carry it out better than it was before the large-scale occupation,” Kuleba said.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that there are currently more than 20 schools operating underground in Ukraine.
“This is our new reality, and we want to share it with you. Unfortunately, this is a very bad experience, but we are living through it because of Russia’s aggression. We want you to know these conditions and hear about our tragedy. Once again, I want to emphasize that this is not only a tragedy for us. It is also an opportunity for reconstruction and for the resilience of our people,” he added.
Oleksii Kuleba stressed that Ukraine has a very productive cooperation with Azerbaijan.
“Angela Makeeva, a representative of the city of Irpin, is also here with us. She is the secretary of the Irpin city administration. Azerbaijan is helping rebuild some facilities in Ukraine, and of course, it is very symbolic for us to be here and have such conversations with governments,” he said.
