Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with a delegation led by UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan.
Axar.az reports that the meeting discussed the current state of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UN and future development prospects. The parties exchanged views on multilateral cooperation, the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals, climate action, and initiatives toward post-conflict recovery and reconstruction.
Bayramov emphasized Azerbaijan's contributions to the international peace, security, and sustainable development agenda, highlighting the role his country plays in promoting regional cooperation and connectivity projects.
In addition, information was provided about the large-scale recovery and construction works carried out in the liberated territories, and the measures taken to ensure the safe and dignified return of internally displaced persons.
The parties also discussed Azerbaijan's leading role in energy security and regional connectivity, as well as its strategic ties with Central Asia.
Mohammed emphasized the importance of the partnership between Azerbaijan and the UN, noting the necessity of expanding cooperation on sustainable development, urbanization, the climate agenda, and humanitarian issues.
During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
