Washington is ready to hold a meeting between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Axar.az reports that James O'Brien, assistant to the US secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs, said this in a statement to journalists.

"I hope that the foreign ministers will have an opportunity to meet as soon as possible. If that happens in Washington, we'll welcome them, whatever role we can play. But there are many channels and both parties are effectively communicating directly. We participate in this process as friends," he said.
