Moscow and Baku are currently discussing problematic issues at the level of the Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, and the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, Kamran Aliyev.
Axar.az informs this was stated by Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov at a briefing.
"At the moment, Investigative Committee Chairman Bastrykin is in constant contact with Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General," said the Kremlin spokesperson. "Through these contacts, they are working through the issues that are considered problematic."
Notably, on the morning of June 27, Russia’s FSB carried out a raid on homes of Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg. Two Azerbaijanis were killed during the operation, and several others were detained.
On June 30, Azerbaijan’s security forces conducted an operation at the "Sputnik Azerbaijan" office. During the raid, the head of the editorial team, Igor Kartavykh, and chief editor Yevgeny Belousov were detained. They are reported to be employees of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) assigned to the agency.
