Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed sincere gratitude to Azerbaijan, a reliable friend of Kazakhstan, for its high-level chairmanship of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), for its contribution to strengthening dialogue, trust, and partnership, as well as to the institutional development of the CICA.

Axar.az reports, citing the press service of the President of Kazakhstan, that the head of state said this during his speech at the opening of the CICA headquarters in Astana.

The President of Kazakhstan wished success to all participants of the CICA in Asia.

“We have always been convinced that only the development of cooperation, mutual understanding, and dialogue can allow us to achieve lasting peace, stability, and prosperity. In modern conditions, the CICA principle of strengthening trust is more relevant than ever. CICA, which covers about 90 percent of Asia and represents more than half of the world's population, is an important element of the developing architecture of international relations,” Tokayev noted.
