Tatar praises Azerbaijan elections, supports relations

On September 3, Ersin Tatar, the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, called Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Ersin Tatar conveyed his congratulations on the confident victory of the New Azerbaijan Party in the early parliamentary elections. He emphasized that the elections were held in a free, democratic, and open environment, reflecting the will of the Azerbaijani people.

Ersin Tatar also highlighted the establishment of a friendship group with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the Azerbaijani parliament and expressed confidence that cooperation within the inter-parliamentary friendship group with the new parliament would continue successfully.

Recalling with pleasure his country's invitation to the Organization of Turkish States Summit in Shusha, Ersin Tatar expressed his gratitude to the Azerbaijani President for his support and invitation for the development of relations between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the organization.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked for the congratulations and noted that Azerbaijan will continue to support the development and expansion of cooperation between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the Organization of Turkish States.

During the conversation, issues of mutual interest were discussed.
