Armenian generals were Soviet-made, not homegrown

"Let me explain one more thing. Another Armenian myth is that we (the Armenian people) produced many generals and marshals. You did not produce them, they are not yours; the Soviet Union provided them, they belong to the Soviets."

Axar.az reports that Armenian analyst Argishti Kiviryan wrote this.

He stated that the development of good soldiers among Armenians during the Soviet era was directly related to the Soviet military system:

'Generals and marshals don't fall from the sky. It requires a very complex education and the right environment, which existed in the Soviet Union. In the Armenian environment, these people would either be like today's generals or wouldn't rise above the rank of lieutenant. The existence of the Armenian statehood and army was only possible because of this.'
