There is no longer any interest in Armenia in Europe

After Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's visit to Brussels and meeting with European Union (EU) officials in April, interest in Yerevan completely disappeared.

Axar.az reports that this was said by Armenian journalist Avetis Babajanyan.

According to him, at the meeting in Brussels, the prime minister was told that his proposals were not very important, and for this reason, a small amount of aid would be allocated.

"If you pay attention, after that day, Charles Michel, Joseph Borrell and other EU officials are no longer as active as before in the negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. They don't offer mediation proposals, they don't try to organize negotiations. Yerevan officials proposed holding a referendum on the country's EU membership. It didn't make as much noise as expected. Therefore, this issue has been resolved. That is, there is no longer any interest in Armenia in Europe, no one cares.

However, at a painful time for us, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited Italy and was received with great pomp. He was the guest of honor at the first international forum held in Chernivtsi. He spoke about deepening commercial and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and European countries. "Baku currently sells gas to 7 countries that are members of the EU, and 3 are waiting in line for this."

Babajanyan said that the EU will need Baku's help more from January.

"After December 31 of this year, Russia will not be able to export gas from the territory of Ukraine to EU countries. Despite the restrictions created in the last 3 years, 40 billion cubic meters of gas were exported to the EU every year. From January 1, European Union countries will be completely deprived of Russian gas. But where will the need be met? All eyes are on Azerbaijan again. In particular, Russia has applied to Azerbaijan to use the gas distribution system for the re-export of additional gas to Europe.

That is, why should Armenia be interested in such a situation? The withdrawal of Yerevan from the CSTO, the fate of the Russian base in the country, nothing in general is important. Armenia has nothing to give to the EU. We are not even interested in Moscow. Therefore, Pashinyan is currently trying to soften relations with Russia. In other words, everything is over for Armenia."
