Armenia’s trade increase masks Russia’s sanction evasion

In the first 7 months of 2024 (January-July), Armenia's trade turnover amounted to $20.4 billion. Is this a success for Armenia? - No, this is the result of the West's “blindness” and Yerevan's false, fake “conflict” with Moscow.

Axar.az reports that economic expert Natiq Jafarli commented on this.

He explained the reasons:

“- Armenia's trade turnover in the first 7 months of 2024 has doubled compared to the same period in 2023 – this cannot be a natural increase;

- Trade turnover with Russia was $9 billion 75 million, which is 2.4 TIMES (!!!) more than the same period last year – trade between countries that are at odds cannot increase this much. The West is simply “blind” to how Armenia is skillfully helping Russia evade sanctions, and the fake conflict is meant to make the West "blind";

- The United Arab Emirates – supposedly a friend of ours – had a trade turnover with Armenia of $4 billion in the first 7 months of this year, which is a 7.3 TIMES (!!!) increase compared to the same period in 2023. The scheme is very simple – UAE companies acquire semiconductors and microchips needed for weapons, drones, and rockets from the US, China, Taiwan, and EU countries and formally sell them to Armenia. Yerevan then buys those goods from the UAE and sells/transfers them to Russia. The West benefits, the UAE benefits, Armenia benefits, and Russia benefits – the loser is Ukraine, whose cities and villages are in ruins, and whose people are dying.”

The expert emphasized again that the Russia-Armenia “conflict” is a theater, a movie, a show, and Western countries are either truly blind and do not understand, or are pretending to be blind and naive:

“The West praises Armenia's stance on CSTO, but does the CSTO even exist?! Ukraine has occupied 1,300 sq. km of Russian territory in Kursk (rightly so), and according to CSTO rules, all member countries should have sent troops to help Russia – but they don’t care because the CSTO is a “dead” organization. Whether Armenia participates in the “dead” organization or not is irrelevant to Russia; it already has military bases in Armenia, controls 70% of the economy directly, and Pashinyan and his team are at the Kremlin's command. However, the West uses the CSTO issue as a flag and says that Armenia is pro-Western, and some narrow-minded people here claim that Putin supports Azerbaijan to overthrow Pashinyan, not understanding that if Moscow really wanted to overthrow Pashinyan, it would have done so 60 times in the last 6 years. Why should it overthrow him?! They have set up a great show, pretending that Armenia is moving towards the West and thus not imposing sanctions, while they are providing decisive support to the Kremlin and doing a great job avoiding sanctions. Moreover, grants and loans from the West come to Armenia, which are then appropriated by Russian companies – for example, millions of euros have been allocated from the West for the reconstruction and repair of Armenian railways. Who owns the Armenian railways? Yes, Russia. When that money is spent on repairs, who will benefit?! Yes, Russian Railways and its subsidiaries.”
