According to the agreement reached last December, Armenia supported Azerbaijan's candidacy to host the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. In return, Azerbaijan supported Armenia’s candidacy for the COP Bureau membership from the Eastern European Group.

Axar.az reports that Ayxan Hacızadə, head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, mentioned this in an interview with Report.

“Hordes of participants will visit Baku in November to discuss the future of our planet from the perspective of climate change at COP29. Invitations have been sent to all countries, including Armenia. However, there is no information on whether Armenia will participate in COP29 from the Azerbaijani side. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has also not made a definitive statement on this matter,” Hacızadə emphasized.
