Azerbaijan's ceasefire call gains support

Azerbaijan's "Joint Ceasefire Call" announced on September 21, which is the International Day of Peace, was supported by all member states of the Non-Aligned Movement.

Axar.az reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan released information about this.

So far, 127 countries have joined the initiative.

This initiative aims to highlight the link between conflict and climate change and the importance of finding collective solutions to protect the most vulnerable groups, as well as to promote positive momentum and cooperation between peoples that can lead to peace.

The call asks all parties to observe a ceasefire during the COP29 session in November, and expresses the belief that our humanity can overcome political challenges and unite in the fundamental message of COP29.

The Joint Ceasefire Call is supported by more than a thousand international institutions, private sector representatives, civil society organizations and influential public figures, in addition to the states.
