The problem between Russia and Ukraine is a matter between Russia and Ukraine. Turkiye successfully organized "Istanbul 1" as a mediator, and Russia later responded with gratitude. However, the West subsequently destroyed these agreements.

Axar.az reports that Russian political analyst Stanislav Tarasov made these remarks in an interview with Armenian media.

"Turkiye declares that a treaty between Russia and Ukraine should be signed with respect to territorial integrity, but this is not its problem. After 'Istanbul-1,' the Turkish government made new proposals, but Russia did not politically pursue them. Turkiye uses its mediation efforts to avoid joining sanctions against Russia, as a mediator must remain neutral; once a mediator joins sanctions, it becomes a party to the conflict. Most likely, that resource has now been exhausted, and Russia has simply reminded Turkiye that it has started leaning toward the West. The Russians know that Turkiye has provided Ukraine with technology and military equipment. It’s highly probable that there will be no 'Istanbul-2' or any agreements with Ukraine. It's hard to say what kind of negotiations will take place—capitulation or something else. But they will happen, and it’s not necessary for these negotiations to take place under Turkiye’s mediation or within Turkiye. Countries like the United States, China, and a number of others ready to play this role may participate in this process,” Tarasov stated.
