Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter to the Transitional President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Ahmed al-Sharaa.

Axar.az reports that the letter states:

"Dear Mr. President,

I congratulate you on assuming the office of the Transitional President of the Syrian Arab Republic and wish you success in your responsible activities for the welfare of your people.

We attach great importance to the development of friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Syria. Azerbaijan is ready to provide necessary support and assistance during this important transition period for your country.

Today, good opportunities have arisen for Azerbaijan-Syria relations to rise to a qualitatively new level and enrich our cooperation with new content. In this regard, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to visit Azerbaijan.

I convey my best wishes to you and wish the friendly Syrian people peace, security, and prosperity."
