U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are reportedly aiming for a Ukraine ceasefire by Easter (April 20) or May 9, according to the Financial Times.

Axar.az, citing RCB-Ukraine, reports that Western and Ukrainian officials say Putin favors a symbolic date for an agreement.

Trump's push for a quick resolution has caught Kyiv off guard, as Ukraine hoped to shape U.S. policy on Russia and offered rare earth metal access. Ukrainian and European officials fear an unfavorable deal. On February 12, Trump and Putin spoke for 90 minutes, with Trump claiming Putin agreed on the need to end the war.
