Trump and Modi discussed easing tariffs, increasing India's purchases of U.S. oil, gas, and defense equipment, and deepening security cooperation.

Axar.az, citing Reuters, reports that while Trump criticized India's high tariffs, both leaders agreed to negotiate a trade deal within months.

India aims to double trade with the U.S. by 2030, while Trump seeks defense and energy sales to reduce the U.S. trade deficit.

They also discussed cooperation on AI and Indo-Pacific security. Modi dismissed questions on billionaire Adani, while Trump approved an extradition related to the 2008 Mumbai attacks. India's ties with Russia and its stance on China were also key topics.
