
NATO chief urges EU to join Ukraine talks

The Kremlin stated that a lasting resolution in Ukraine is impossible without addressing broader European security concerns.
Axar.az reports that while Russia does not oppose Ukraine joining the EU, it firmly rejects its NATO membership.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized that security and military alliances are separate issues. Moscow reiterated its long-standing demand for NATO to withdraw from central and Eastern Europe.
President Vladimir Putin is open to negotiating with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, but the Kremlin questions his legitimacy since his mandate was extended under martial law. Zelensky has expressed willingness to negotiate but insists on first securing a unified stance with Ukraine’s allies.
