Asian Parliamentary Assembly kicks off in Baku

Under Azerbaijan's chairmanship, the 15th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APА) has started its work in Baku.

Axar.az reports that, the event, bringing together 35 delegations and nearly 280 representatives, is expected to address several important issues.

APA, as a major platform for parliamentary diplomacy uniting Asian parliaments, also serves to promote discussions and dialogue between the legislative bodies of member countries.

Notably, the following individuals have arrived in Baku to participate in the event: Puan Maharani, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Indonesia; Khalid Hilal Nasir Al-Maawali, Chairman of the Consultative Council of the Sultanate of Oman; Natalia Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the National Assembly of Belarus; Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Uzbekistan; Ali Saleh Abdullah Al-Saleh, Chairman of the Consultative Council of Bahrain; Lungten Dorji, Chairman of the National Assembly of Bhutan; Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran; Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan; Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Supreme Assembly of Tajikistan.
