For several days, the leadership of the CHP has been using the primitive language of marginal politics, rather than that of a rooted party. Democratic protest is a right, but the language used by the CHP leadership is not the language of democratic protest.
Axar.az reports that this was stated by Ömer Çelik, the spokesperson for Turkiye's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP).
He stated that the CHP leadership cannot respond clearly and directly to the claims on the agenda:
“These claims were raised months ago by some CHP members and certain CHP municipalities. Initially, these corruption discussions began among CHP politicians, but the party leader Özgür Özél and the leadership remained silent in the face of this. Now, by calling on the youth to the streets, they are trying to cover up their political inadequacies and irresponsibility. They are misusing the right to democratic protest to suppress the internal conflicts within the CHP. The CHP leadership has once again failed in terms of democratic politics and democratic approaches. The biggest problem in our political life is the lack of politics in the CHP. The only thing the CHP leadership should do is face the people and respond to the allegations raised by some CHP politicians and certain CHP municipalities.”
