Five minutes after the peace treaty is signed, the citizens of Armenia and Azerbaijan will begin trading with each other and interacting in every possible way.
Axar.az reports this was stated by the Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly, Alen Simonyan.
Armenians will be able to live in Baku once the peace treaty is signed, he said.
"The rest will be able to return to the villages in Armenia where they once lived. Armenians live in Georgia today — the same logic applies," he noted during a briefing on Tuesday.
The speaker stressed that when we talk about "peace," we mean actual peace.
"Are we not even going to greet each other? Five minutes after the peace treaty is signed, Armenian and Azerbaijani citizens will start trading, communicating, and interacting in all possible ways," Simonyan said.
The head of parliament emphasized the need to prepare both societies for this. In this context, he cited the example of the French and the British, who became allies after a hundred years of war.
"I believe that if there is will on their side, our societies will be able to live together," Simonyan concluded.
