Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov had a telephone conversation with David Lemmy, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Unions and Development of the United Kingdom.

During the telephone conversation, issues of cooperation between the two countries, the current regional situation as a result of the Israeli-Iranian conflict, as well as the prospects for the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia were discussed.
The British Minister conveyed his congratulations on the occasion of Independence Day and thanked for the congratulations on the occasion of the national holiday of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland - the King's Birthday. He also expressed his high appreciation for the letter of condolences sent by President Ilham Aliyev regarding the death of British citizens as a result of the crash of an Air India passenger plane near the city of Ahmedabad. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in turn, thanked for the congratulations and conveyed his condolences.
The parties expressed serious concern about the security situation in the region as a result of the Israeli-Iranian conflict and stressed the importance of continuing contacts and negotiations through diplomatic channels to prevent further escalation of the situation.
The ministers also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
