President Masoud Pezeshkian does not accept claims that an air attack was carried out against Iran from the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Axar.az reports that Alireza Novin, the representative of Tabriz in the Iranian Parliament, stated this.
“During President Masoud Pezeshkian's recent visit to Tabriz, I emphasized the importance of strengthening the defense of the country’s northwest in our meeting. Despite unofficial evidence of attacks from the Republic of Azerbaijan, the president did not accept it,” the MP stated.
Alireza also noted that he raised the issue of strengthening the defense infrastructure in the provinces of West Azerbaijan, East Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Zanjan, and Kurdistan during his meeting with Pezeshkian.
It should be noted that one day after this press conference held by Alireza Novin and his baseless claims about attacks from Azerbaijan, a session of the Assembly of Representatives of East Azerbaijan Province took place. In that session, Alireza Novin was removed from his post as Speaker of the Assembly and replaced by Beytollah Abdollahi, the MP for Ahar and Heris.
To recall, during the 12-day war, some Iranian experts claimed that Israeli drones launched from Azerbaijani territory carried out strikes on Iran. However, no evidence has ever been presented to support these claims. Azerbaijan has firmly rejected these unfounded accusations and reiterated that its territory has never been and will never be used against third countries.
