Egyptian military plane flies to Baku via Armenia

An Egyptian military transport plane, the CASA C295, flew to Azerbaijan using Armenian airspace.

Axar.az informs, citing Sputnik Armenia, typically, military aircraft—including those carrying weapons—reach Azerbaijan via Turkiye and Georgia.

The Cairo-Baku flight took place in early December 2025. On the same day, the plane returned to Egypt, again passing through Armenian airspace.

Sputnik Armenia contacted the Armenian Foreign Ministry to ask about the flight’s purpose. The ministry stated it was a private visit.

“We confirm that the aircraft flying the Cairo-Baku route through Armenian airspace was a passenger plane. It transported a private high-ranking individual to Azerbaijan,” the ministry said.
