The Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board (CMB), Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, received a delegation led by Betsy Burns Korn, Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations in the United States.
Axar.az reports that according to the CMB, Betsy Burns Korn expressed her satisfaction with visiting our country with a large delegation.
They expressed their awareness of Azerbaijan's rich experience in the field of interfaith cooperation, its environment of tolerance, and multicultural values, and in this regard, they highly appreciated the opportunity to get acquainted with the religious environment of Azerbaijan on the spot.
The guests, who stated that the meeting with the religious leader of Azerbaijan and the Caucasus held a special place among the numerous meetings they held in Azerbaijan, asked the Sheikh-ul-Islam to talk about the tolerance model of Azerbaijan and share his thoughts and opinions on how this model can be achieved in other countries of the world.
Sheikh-ul-Islam A. Pashazadeh clarified the historical and contemporary aspects of the Azerbaijani model of interfaith dialogue and cooperation. He especially emphasized that tolerance, ethnic, and religious tolerance, and friendly inter-confessional relations are the vital reality of Azerbaijan; this is our daily way of life, and religious confessions in our country are always together, on joyful and sad days, at important moments for our Motherland. Recalling the close unity of our citizens of all religious confessions around the state during the 44-day Patriotic War, and the martyrdom of our martyrs who fought shoulder to shoulder for the Motherland, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh proudly noted that the sacred memory of our martyrs of various religions and ethnicities lives in the heart of every Azerbaijani.
