The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan issued a statement strongly condemning the armed attack against the embassy of Azerbaijan in Tehran, which resulted in the death and injuries of members of the diplomatic mission.
Axar.az reports that Kazakhstan considers any acts of violence and aggression against diplomatic missions and their representatives unacceptable.
"We believe that such attacks violate the principles and norms of international law and should be the object of general condemnation. We offer our deepest condolences to the brotherly people of Azerbaijan, as well as to the relatives and friends of the deceased citizen of Azerbaijan, Orkhan Asgarov. We wish the injured a speedy recovery. We are sure that The authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran will conduct a thorough investigation of the incident and take appropriate measures to punish the perpetrators," the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan said.
It should be recalled that on January 27, at around 8:30 am Baku time, there was a terrorist attack on the embassy of Azerbaijan in Iran. The person who perpetrated the terror attacked the security post with a Kalashnikov automatic weapon and killed the head of the security service, Orkhan Asgarov. Two security guards of the embassy were also injured while preventing the attack. The condition of the injured is satisfactory.
The perpetrator of the terrorist attack was detained by an employee of the Azerbaijani embassy.
