The extremely irresponsible statements made by the French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna, are aimed at distorting the current realities in the region.
Axar.az reports that this was stated in the statement of the French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan regarding the results of the anti-terrorist measures taken against the Armenian armed forces illegally stationed in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.
"In order to prevent possible military provocations and terrorist acts by the illegal Armenian armed forces, the local anti-terrorist measures implemented by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in our sovereign territories were carried out in full compliance with international law, including international humanitarian law.
Instead of condemning the non-fulfilment of the obligations of the Armenian leadership of France regarding the withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from our territories, the military-political provocations, including the irresponsible congratulatory message addressed by the Prime Minister of Armenia to the so-called regime supported by this country on September 2, the views expressed against Azerbaijan are separatism. and is nothing but the encouragement of the revanchist forces inside Armenia.
Despite the failure of France's attempts to isolate Azerbaijan at the previous meetings of the UN Security Council, this country's next attempt to use the Security Council for a policy that has a limited understanding of the region and denial of existing truths is not only dangerous, but also does not serve to establish peace and security in the region.
Azerbaijan has never targeted peaceful Armenian residents, it is committed to implementing the process of reintegration of residents of Armenian descent into our society and ensuring their rights and safety within the framework of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In this regard, France's claim about the non-existent "mass deportation" of Armenian residents is only an idea that this country hopes to exist in order to make further accusations against Azerbaijan.
The complete disarmament and removal of all illegal armed groups in a short period of time, as well as the release of the illegal so-called regime, is the key to creating conditions for a meaningful dialogue between representatives of the central government and local Armenian residents regarding their reintegration into our society as equal citizens within the framework of the Constitution of Azerbaijan.
We believe that this, in turn, will make a positive contribution to the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
At a time when the direct dialogue between the Armenian residents and the Azerbaijani officials is accompanied by the practical implementation of disarmament and demilitarization in the region, the assessment of the situation by the international community, especially France, should be in accordance with international legal norms based on respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of states," it was noted.
